Metis and ParMetis

Long Description: METIS is a family of programs for partitioning unstructured graphs and hypergraphs and computing fill-reducing orderings of sparse matrices.
The underlying algorithms used by METIS are based on the state-of-the-art multilevel paradigm that has been shown to produce high quality results and scale to very large problems.

Metis and ParMetis are installed in /usr/apps/math/metis on Abe.
Metis 4.0
To compile: -I /usr/apps/math/metis/metis-4.0/intel10/include
To link: -L /usr/apps/math/metis/metis-4.0/intel10/lib -lmetis

Parmetis-3.1
To compile: -I /usr/apps/math/metis/ParMetis-3.1/intel10_mvapich2/include
To link using MVAPICH2:
-L /usr/apps/math/metis/ParMetis-3.1/intel10_mvapich2/lib -lparmetis -lmetis
Other compiler versions available upon request.
Note: There is a known compiler bug with the Intel 10.0 compiler which incorrectly evaluates 'switch' cases. This in turn breaks code related to MPI_Allreduce for certain datatypes and operations. We are in the process of switching to a new release of the Intel 10.1 compiler and building supporting software with it.
