MKL - Math Kernel Library

General Information

Short Description: Intel math kernel library

Long Description:
The Math Kernel Library (MKL) contains the complete set of functions from the basic linear algebra subprograms (BLAS), the extended BLAS (sparse), and the complete set of LAPACK routines. In addition, there is a set of fast Fourier transforms in single- and double-precision, real and complex data types with both Fortran and C interfaces. The library also includes the cblas interfaces, which allow the C programmer to access all the functionality of the BLAS without considering C-Fortran issues.

Usage Information:
MKL is installed on Mercury.
The default MKL is version 6.0 in /opt/intel/mkl.
Version 7.2 and version 8.0 are available in /usr/projects/mkl.
The following softenv keys are defined:
+intel-mkl Intel Math Kernel Libraries 6.0.0
+intel-mkl70 Intel Math Kernel Libraries 7.2.1
+intel-mkl80 Intel Math Kernel Libraries 8.0.1

For MKL 8, the MKL wrapper library of FFTW is available. To compile and link it into your code:
- when compiling add -I${MKL_HOME}/include
- when linking add -L${MKL_HOME}/examples/fftw2mkl/_results/lib64_intel -lfftw2mkl
